The Course Pre-Requirement feature allows administrators and instructors to make one course dependent on the completion of others.
This helps organizations design structured learning paths, ensuring that learners progress in the intended order.
When a learner tries to access a course with prerequisites, they’ll first need to complete all the listed courses before unlocking access.
How to Add Course Pre-Requirements
Go to the Course Settings of the course you are creating or editing.
Scroll down to the Requirements section.
In the Pre-Requirement field, select one or more existing courses from the dropdown list.
Learner Experience
When students try to open a course with pre-requirements, they’ll see a message indicating that they must complete the required courses first.
Each prerequisite course will appear as a card with its name, description, and instructor, allowing the learner to navigate directly to those courses.
Why It’s Useful
✅ Create sequential learning paths for structured programs.
🎓 Ensure learners acquire the required knowledge before advancing.
🧭 Improve course flow and learning outcomes.
Notes
You can add multiple pre-requirement courses to a single course.
Once a learner completes all required courses, access to the next course is automatically unlocked.
This setting can be modified anytime from the Course Settings panel.
