How to Customize Member Profile Layouts

Customize profile pages by adding cards, reorganizing sections, and creating custom profile fields for your members.

Written by Filippo Schiano di Pepe

Teachfloor allows administrators to fully customize the layout of member profile pages.

You can:

  • Add custom profile cards

  • Reorder cards across the profile

  • Place cards in the sidebar, main section, or header

  • Enable or disable system cards

  • Create custom fields for members to complete

  • Display structured information like skills, bios, links, certifications, interests, and more

This makes profile pages more dynamic, personalized, and useful for communities, academies, bootcamps, and corporate training programs.

Accessing the Profile Layout Settings

To customize profile layouts:

Go to:

Settings → Profile Layout

Inside this section, you will find three layout areas:

  • Main → content displayed in the center area of the profile

  • Side → cards displayed in the left sidebar

  • Header → information displayed inside the top profile header

You can create different cards for each section.

System Cards

Teachfloor includes several default system cards already available in profiles.

These cards can be enabled, disabled, or repositioned.

Available system cards include:

  • Links — display social and external links

  • Achievements — showcase badges or accomplishments

  • About — member biography and description

You may also see custom cards previously created by your organization, such as:

  • Skills

  • Certifications

  • Interests

  • Languages

  • Portfolio

  • Experience

To disable a card:

  • Use the toggle switch next to the card

  • Disabled cards will no longer appear on member profiles

Reordering Profile Cards

Cards can be repositioned using drag-and-drop.

You can:

  • Move cards higher or lower within a section

  • Organize the order of profile information

  • Create cleaner profile layouts based on your organization’s needs

This allows organizations to prioritize the most important information.

Example:

  • Put “About” at the top for community-focused organizations

  • Put “Skills” first for talent-based academies

  • Highlight certifications and achievements for workforce training

Creating a New Custom Profile Card

To create a custom card:

  1. Open the desired layout section:

    • Main

    • Side

    • Header

  2. Click Add Card

  3. Configure the card settings:

    • Card title

    • Position

    • Fields

    • Visibility

  4. Click Save

Once created, the card becomes available on all member profiles.
