User Seats vs. Active Users: How They Work in Teachfloor

Written by Filippo Schiano di Pepe

Teachfloor offers two different ways to manage learners in your plan: User Seats and Active Users.

The main difference is how users are counted and billed.

User Seats

With the User Seats model, your plan includes a fixed number of user accounts.

Each learner registered in your organization occupies one seat, regardless of how frequently they access the platform.

For example, if your plan includes 100 User Seats, you can have up to 100 registered learner accounts in your organization.

Active Users

The Active Users model gives you more flexibility and includes unlimited registered users.

You can register as many users as you need in your organization. Instead of counting all registered accounts, Teachfloor only counts the users who are active during the month.

Your plan includes a specific number of Active Users per month.

If you reach or exceed the number of Active Users included in your plan, Teachfloor does not block access or prevent additional users from using the platform.

Additional users can continue to access and use Teachfloor normally. Any Active Users above the amount included in your plan are counted as extra Active Users.

At the end of each month, these extra Active Users are calculated and billed separately.

The price per additional Active User depends on your base subscription package.

Example

If your plan includes 100 Active Users and 125 users are active during the month:

  • You can have unlimited registered users in your organization.

  • 100 Active Users are included in your plan.

  • The additional 25 users are counted as extra Active Users.

  • The 25 extra Active Users are billed separately at the end of the month.

The cost per additional Active User depends on your base Teachfloor subscription package.

User Seats vs. Active Users

With User Seats, the number of registered users is based on the number of seats included in your plan.

With Active Users, you can have unlimited registered users, and billing is based on how many users are actually active each month. If you exceed the number included in your plan, there is no interruption to the service: the additional Active Users are simply counted and billed at the end of the month.
