Teachfloor supports Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) through email verification, adding an extra layer of security to user accounts.
When enabled, users must enter a verification code sent to their email address after logging in with their password. This helps protect accounts from unauthorized access.
How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication
To enable email-based two-factor authentication for your organization, follow these steps:
Log in to your Teachfloor account as an Owner or Admin.
Click the Settings (gear icon) in the top-right corner.
Select the General tab.
Open the Security section.
Enable Require Email Verification for Password Login.
Click Save to apply the changes.
Once enabled, email verification will be required for users logging in with their passwords.
How Email Verification Works
When a user logs in to Teachfloor:
The user enters their email address and password.
Teachfloor sends a verification code to their registered email address.
The user enters the code to verify their identity.
Once verified, the user can access their account.
Email Delivery and SMTP Fallback
Teachfloor supports custom SMTP configurations for sending emails from your organization's email domain.
To ensure verification emails can still be delivered if your custom SMTP server fails, Teachfloor includes an automatic email fallback system.
If the custom SMTP configuration is not working correctly, Teachfloor can send verification emails using its own email domain instead.
This helps prevent users from being locked out of their accounts due to email delivery issues.
