This is a step-by-step guide for setting Submission and Peer Review element into your module or lesson.

This is a step-by-step guide for setting Submission and Peer Review element into your module or lesson.

Click on (+) Add Element on the left side of the screen. And click Submission and Peer Review.

Submission and Peer Review. Allow participants to submit anything text, files, and links. To complete this task, participants will have to review submissions from their peers.

Different Settings of Peer Review Assessment

Settings of Peer Review assessment are divided into three major portions:


1. General Settings

In the general settings, you can set the following settings;

  • Cover Image - Add a cover image to your peer review module that will reflect the importance of the peer review.

  • Name - Give a descriptive name to the peer review, referring to the lessons the quiz is linked to or the topic covered.

  • Description - This space can be used to add details regarding the peer review and all the information the students might need previous to starting the peer review.

  • Resources - This space can be used to add details regarding the peer review and all the information the students might need previous to starting the peer review.

  • Display Description on Top - Enabling this will allow the students to see the description and resources before the peer review content.

Click on the pre-requirements dropdown and choose from your previous lessons or activities that you want to require. You may add multiple pre-requirement activities.

3. Visibility Settings

You can set visibility options, making it visible to either;

  • Manually selected students

  • To specific roles

  • To specific tags

You can also decide whether the peer review should be linked to an earlier submission in the course.

Peer Review Settings

  • Deadline. The deadline can be set here if the quiz needs to be completed within a certain timeframe.

  • Reminders. If the quiz needs reminders for the deadline, the reminders can be set here.

From student account.

Below is an example view for this newly built element. It displays the description, deadline, question(s), answer field, and (+) sign for attaching a file upload (only visible if the "Allow file upload" is enabled.

Students must click Submit Responses once done answering the question. You can check the answers by clicking the Activities tab.
