Welcome to our helpful guide on Team members!
Teachfloor lets you collaborate with your team by assigning them different roles — each with specific permissions.
There are 4 types of team members on Teachfloor:
Owner
Administrator
Instructor
Assistant
Each role has different levels of access and control. This guide explains what each role can and cannot do, so you can manage your team with confidence.
1. Owner
The Owner is the person who buys the subscription and has full control of the Teachfloor account.
✅ What the Owner Can Do:
Billing – View, upgrade, or downgrade the plan
Invite Team Members – Add Admins, Instructors, and Assistants
Integrations – Connect apps like Zoom, Slack, Stripe, Zapier, API, etc.
Whitelabeling – Customize the platform’s branding
Language & Currency – Change platform language and currency
Community – Create and interact with course communities
Courses – Create, publish, and manage all courses
Analytics – View detailed reports for every course
Assessments – Review and grade student submissions
Invite Students – Add learners to any course
ℹ️ Tip: Owners have the highest level of access on Teachfloor.
🛠️ 2. Administrator
An Admin has almost the same powers as the Owner — except billing access.
✅ What the Admin Can Do:
Invite Team Members – Add other Admins, Instructors, and Assistants
Integrations – Set up Zoom, Slack, Stripe, Zapier, etc.
Whitelabeling – Change platform look and feel
Language & Currency – Update platform language or currency
Community – Create and interact with course communities
Courses – Build, edit, and publish courses
Analytics – View insights for each course
Assessments – Grade assignments
Invite Students – Add learners to any course
❌ What Admins Cannot Do:
Access billing or payment settings
💡 Tip: Admins are perfect for managing courses without handling payment details.
3. Instructor
An Instructor can only manage the courses they are assigned to.
✅ What Instructors Can Do:
Invite Assistants – Only for the courses they’re assigned
Edit Course – Make changes to assigned courses
Analytics – See reports for their own courses
Community – Interact in their course’s discussion board and messages
Assessments – Grade learners in their own course
Invite Students – Add learners to their assigned course
❌ What Instructors Cannot Do:
Access other courses
Use Whitelabeling, Integrations, or Billing
Change currency or platform settings
Turn off community features
Create new courses
📝 Note: Instructors are focused on teaching and managing only the courses they’re linked to.
(see the screenshot below to see, what an instructor can do)
4. Assistant
Assistants support Instructors but have the least permissions on Teachfloor.
✅ What Assistants Can Do:
Assessments – Grade student assignments
Community – Chat with learners in assigned courses
Learner Analytics – View progress of learners assigned to them
❌ What Assistants Cannot Do:
Edit courses
Create new courses
Invite anyone (team members or students)
Use integrations, billing, whitelabeling, or settings
Turn off the community feature
🔒 Reminder: Assistants can only see and support — they cannot manage.
