Learn how to create and customize certificate elements, and student claim process on Teachfloor.

Hello, and welcome to our step-by-step guide on how to add a certificate element on Teachfloor.

Certificate. You can give certificates to your learners on Teachfloor as a recognition or validation of their course completion or any other achievement.

How to create a content element?

When you come to the Curriculum page on the course you want to add a content element and edit it. You will see a (+) Add Element.

Click on (+) Add Element on the left side of the screen. Scroll down and select Certificate.

Different settings in the Certificate element

Settings of certificate elements are divided into three significant portions:

1. General Settings

In the general settings, you can set the following settings;

  • Cover Image - Add a cover image to your certificate module that will reflect the importance of the content.

  • Name - You can name this module, such as graduation.

  • Description - This space can be used to add details regarding the Certificate and its nobility.

  • Resources - This space can be used to add details to any resource to add to your Certificate.

  • Display Description on Top - Enabling this will allow the learners to see the description and resources before reading the content.

​​2. Requirements Settings

What the learners should be familiar with or need to have worked on before being able to claim their Certificate. Click on the pre-requirements dropdown and choose from your previous lessons or activities that you want to require. You may add multiple pre-requirement activities.

3. Visibility Settings

You can set visibility options, making it visible to either;

  • Manually selected learners

  • To specific roles

  • To specific tags

4. Certificate Settings

In the certificate settings, you will see an image of how your Certificate will look like. Following that, you will find more options explained below:

  • Certificate Title - Here, you can type the certificate name, such as Certificate of completion, etc.

  • Certificate Description - Here you will describe the Certificate and why or how it has been given to the learner. Such as successfully meeting the requirement and being awarded. Etc.

  • Course Name - Here, you will enter the course name to which that Certificate is relevant.

  • Issued By - Here, you will enter the issuing party. In most cases, it's the name of your academy.

How to customize the Certificate?

Below the above boxes, you will find four different color options for the following elements in the Certificate.

  • Certificate Title Color

  • Certificate Text Color

  • Course Name Color

  • Background Color

You can also add the background image in the course in the following section; make sure the resolution of the image is 1920x1080

Lastly, you have the option to turn the Teachfloor branding on or off on your Certificate at the end with a slider button.

Learner's Perspective

In the certificate module, learners will have a button "Create Certificate" and its certificate will be created, and give the learners the option to share it on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. Moreover, learners also have the option to download the certificate and go to the certificate page.
