There are two major types of courses: online, self-paced, and cohort, also known as scheduled or continuous. Using Teachfloor, you can make all types of courses. When creating a course on Teachfloor, you can choose between Scheduled (Cohort) or Continuous (Self-paced) in the General course settings.

(see the screen recording below)

How to make a Continuous (Self-paced) Course?

The continuous course has no specific start and end date. Every enrolled learner completes it at their own pace. It usually comprises re-watchable videos, texts, audio and graphics.

Here are a few following steps that will set the course as a continuous on Teachfloor;

Step #1: Log in to your Teachfloor account

Step #2: Select the course that you want to make continuous and click on the edit button

Step #3: Once, you are in the editing interface, click on 'Date' in the settings

Step #4: Now set the course availability, when you click a drag-down display will appear, select "Continous" on it

(See screenshot below)

Step #5: Ta-da, you have successfully set your course as Continuous or Self-paced.

How to Make a Scheduled (Cohort) Course?

The scheduled course has a start and an end date. All the enrolled learners will complete the course at the same time. However, we often see live video conferences, multiple live assessments, and more in scheduled courses.

Here are a few steps that will set the course as scheduled on Teachfloor;

Step #1: Log in to your Teachfloor account

Step #2: Select the course that you want to take continuous

Step #3: Go to the general settings of the course

Step #4: Now, scroll down and go to the Date section

Step #5: Now set the course availability, when you click a drag-down display will appear, select "Scheduled" on it

Step #6: Now, you will have two new inputs, where you must enter your scheduled course's start and end date.

However, there is one feature that makes both courses interactive, and that is community. Whether you have a continuous or scheduled course, it must have it. That's why Teachfloor has a community feature standard for each of our customers.
