Welcome to today's guide to the visibility settings of your course curriculum on Teachfloor. You can restrict the visibility of a particular module or an entire course in the curriculum based on the parameters you set.

Use-Case of Visibility Settings

For example, you have a programming course in which students are divided into front-end and back-end programming using Tags activity. Now, you only have to create a particular module for back-end programmers in the course. So you can easily use the visibility option. Or, you want to take a survey from learners about the assigned instructor or assistant.

So, when you add a lesson or a module to the course, You will see visibility setting options.

(see the screen recording below)

You will have three options based on which you can restrict the visibility.

(See screenshot below)

1. Tags

You can restrict the visibility based on the tags. So, only the learners with the tags you allow can see those parts of the course. If you need to learn about the tags, read our in-depth article about Tags.

Follow the below steps to set tags:

Step #1: Click on the + Add Rule Button on the Visibility settings of the lesson or module of your choice.

(See screenshot below)

Step #2: Now, you will see a pop-up display giving three options; you must select the tags.

(See screenshot below)

Step #3: Finally, you will select the tags you want to allow them to see in the lesson or module of that course.

(See screenshot below)

2. Selected Users

You can also manually select the users of your choice as well. Only then will they be able to see that element of the course? Here, you will have all the creative freedom to implement and allow only users to fulfil them.

Follow the below steps to allow users to do it manually;

Step #1: Click on the + Add Rule Button on the Visibility settings of the lesson or module of your choice.

(See screenshot below)

Step #2: Now, you will see a pop-up display giving three options; you must select the selected users.

(See screenshot below)

Step #3: After choosing selected users, you will have an option to select users. A list of users enrolled in the course will appear when you click on it.

(See screenshot below)

Step #4: Select the users that you want them to have visibility.

(See screenshot below)

3. Roles

Lastly, you can restrict the visibility depending on the roles, such as Learners, Instructors, Administrators, Owner, or assistants. Let's say you want to make a module for assistants within that course, so you can create it and restrict its visibility to the assistant only.

Follow the below steps to do so;

Step #1: Click on the + Add Rule Button on the Visibility settings of the lesson or module of your choice.

(See screenshot below)

Step #2: Now, you will see a pop-up display giving three options; you must select the roles.

(See screenshot below)

Step #3: Once you select the roles, you will have a list of roles to choose from; you can also add multiple roles.
